Next phase of Eastlake project begins
EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) —
On Monday, roadwork began on Eastlake Boulevard.
Crews started construction along the roadway at 7 a.m.
Eastlake Boulevard between Rojas Drive and Peyton Road will be worked on for the next two years.
CBS4 previously reported County Commissioner Vince Perez said drivers in the area would have to brace themselves for the $28 million project.
The four-lane roadway will be cut to two one way (northbound and southbound) lanes.
Traffic will be diverted to those two lanes as crews work on the blocked side of the roadway.
The finished roadway will include two new lanes, hiking/biking trails, and sidewalks.
The next part of the project will run on Eastlake from Peyton to Darrington.
