Semitruck carrying beer crashes along Transmountain Road, causing major delays

Emergency crews were busy early Thursday morning near Transmountain Road (Loop 375).

A semitruck rolled on its side along the Desert Boulevard North near the Transmountain Exit.

It happened around 8:30 a.m.

The semitruck was carrying beer in its cargo, according to emergency dispatch officials.

The driver was stuck inside, but was pulled out by El Paso fire crews and airlifted to a hospital, according to authorities at the scene.

Our news crew at the scene said the odor of beer filled the air as winds picked up throughout the morning.

There's no word on the man's condition or how the crash happened.

An iSpot reported captured these close-up images of the scene.

Crews worked for hours to clean up the beer spill. The scene was cleared just before 9 p.m.

Another crash was reported around 8 a.m. happened along Loop 375 (Transmountain Road) and U.S. 54 East.

Two cars were seen on TxDOT cameras blocking both lanes near the interchange, forcing traffic to get by on the shoulder.

Then, at 7:45 a.m., three vehicles were involved in a crash along U.S. 54 southbound just past Transmountain Road.

The crash site blocked the left-hand lane.

Traffic was backed up through Sun Valley.

A fiery crash involving another semitruck was reported 6 a.m.

That crash happened along Loop 375 West (Transmountain Road) at Resler Exit.
