At the end of the 1st quarter in UTEP's season opener with Houston Baptist, UTEP honored former tight end Luke Laufenberg with a framed jersey to his father Babe Laufenberg and Luke's brother.
Luke died last week following a two-year battle with cancer.
After being declared cancer free at the end of 2018, Laufenberg was offered a scholarship to play football at UTEP. However, his cancer returned and Luke was unable to return to El Paso.
Luke's father Babe, a former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, described his son as 'Sweet' and one of the strongest people he has known.
