El Paso Locomotive FC have been full steam ahead the last two months but their strength is now being tested with some of the teams top defenders dealing with injuries.
Mechack Jérôme is out for the foreseeable future after rupturing his Achilles while playing for Haiti in the Gold Cup. Team Captain Chiro N'Toko missed the match against San Antonio FC and looks to return Saturday against Fresno. Defender Yuma is also out for at least the next two weeks.
Not an ideal situation for Head Coach Mark Lowry as now other defenders, who themselves have been nursing injuries and getting back into shape, are now forced to step into a starting role to keep the Locomotive at the top of the Western Conference.
