Riverside High School names new head football coach

Officials with the Ysleta Independent School District have named a new head football coach for Riverside High School.

Gary Recoder was named the new coach. He will also serve as the school’s new athletic coordinator.

Recoder is a former offensive coordinator at Coronado High School.

Recoder is a Riverside High School Class of 2000 graduate.

He has 15 years of coaching experience at different schools in El Paso.

Recoder holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix and a master’s degree in education leadership from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Riverside was 3-7 last year, and 1-4 in district play.

Recoder replaces Tony Pallanez.
