Recall: Chrysler, Mazda and KIND bars

Fiat Chrysler has issued a recall for 443,712 trucks for an issue with the water pump.

The automaker reports that the bearing on the water pump could overheat and spark an engine compartment fire.

Chrysler has not received any reports of this resulting in an injury or accident but says it is investigating the issue.

When that bearing fails, a warning light will come on in the car and warn the driver of the problem. The automaker is urging people to take the car to a dealer immediately if that happens.

The following models are affected by this recall:

-- 2013-17 Ram 2500 pickup truck

-- 2013-17 Ram 3500 pickup truck

-- 2013-17 Ram 3500 chassis cab

-- 2013-17 Ram 4500 chassis cab

-- 2013-17 Ram 5500 chassis cab

The trucks all have a 6.7-liter engine. The automaker will notify customer about when to take the trucks in for a free inspection and repair. Customers with questions can contact Fiat Chrysler at 800-853-1403.

Meanwhile, Mazda has issued a recall for 57,878 cars for an issue with some of the wiring. The automaker reports that debris from the welding process during manufacturing could damage some of the wiring in the cars.

This could result in a loss of power steering assist and cause the passenger side airbags not to work in the event of an accident.

Mazda will notify owners and driver will need to take the cars in to have a protective pad added to the seat frame for free. Dealers will also inspect the wiring and repair it if necessary.

The following cars are part of this recall:

-- 2015-2016 Mazda6 cars

The recall is expected to begin on Sept. 29. Mazda’s number for this recall is 1517H. Customers with questions can contact the automaker at 800-222-5500.

Finally, KIND has issued a recall for some of its boxes of granola bars over undeclared ingredients. The company reports that the KIND Dark Chocolate Nuts and Sea Salt bars are affected by this recall.

The bars have undeclared walnuts inside. In March, the walnuts were removed from the recipe. However, some bars still have walnuts that were not labelled.

The bars have a best before date of Dec. 20, 2017, and Feb. 4, 2018.

Customers with walnut allergies are urged not to eat the bars and to either throw them out or return them for a refund. Customers with questions can contact KIND at 855-884-5463.
