A 92-year-old woman in Arizona is accused of killing her son because he wanted to put her in an assisted living home, according to court records.

CBS reported that Anna Mae Blessing was brought before a judge in a wheelchair after she shot and killed her 72-year-old son,Thomas Blessing, on Monday morning.

Detectives said Blessing had two handguns in the pockets of her robe and confronted her son in his room.

Court records show she believed her son and his girlfriend were talking about putting her in an assisted living home because she had become “difficult to deal with.”

Blessing shot her son twice and then pointed a gun at his girlfriend, deputies said.

A struggle ensued when her son’s girlfriend tried to take the handgun away. When the girlfriend got the gun, deputies said, Blessing pulled out the second gun from her pocket and the two women began to fight over that gun.

The girlfriend called 911 and, when deputies arrived, they found Blessing sitting in her recliner and her son dead in the other room.
