EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The veteran support group, Catch 22 Peer Support along with the Opportunity Center came together and organized the ‘Cut Homelessness’ event on Monday.
The goal of the event is for veterans to continue serving the community through different ways, according to Derek Iozzio, founder of Catch 22 Peer Support.
“This is a great opportunity to show that the community can come together and provide a service for the homeless population,” said Iozzio.

Jonathan Bohannon, a U.S Army veteran who works at the Opportunity Center helped organize the event along with Iozzio to set an example of what happens when people work together to help one another.
“The motto was Recovery through Service so it's that spirit of service that brought this together and we’re just hoping to provide an example of what can happen, the possibilities when Veterans come together with the community and start leaning from the front,” said Bohannon.
The free haircuts are provided by My- T Sharp, veteran owned mobile hair salon. Haircuts will be provided from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 22 for men and on March 29 for women, who may be experiencing homelessness.
