Multiple injuries reported after 12 vehicles pile-up on I-10 east at Van Horn
VAN HORN, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Several wrecked vehicles along Interstate 10 along the eastbound lanes have blocked traffic east of Van Horn Tuesday morning.
A viewer shared photos of a crash that resulted in a pile-up along I-10 East near the I-10/I-20 split.
The photos show that semitrailers were involved in the crash.
The crash reportedly happened around 7:11 a.m.
Texas Department of Transportation has closed all eastbound lanes in the area.
DPS officials said the crash involves as many as 12 vehicles with multiple injuries.
As of 12:30 p.m., TxDOT is continuing to divert eastbound IH-10 traffic at Van Horn. The eastbound lanes of IH-10 will remain closed for an unknown period of time.
Winter weather brought ice to Texas and nearby states Tuesday.
Numerous auto collisions were reported in Austin, Texas, with at least one fatality according to the Austin Fire Department.
More than 500 flights to or from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and nearly 125 to or from Dallas Love Field were canceled or delayed Tuesday, according to the tracking service FlightAware.
Dallas-based Southwest Airlines has canceled more than 300 flights and delayed nearly 100 more, FlightAware reported.
