Two local retailers that have been in business for decades are shutting their doors.

Tres Mariposas, a premiere fashion destination dedicated to bringing high-end fashion from the runway to El Paso, announced it is closing.

The business opened its doors in 1970, and it sells high-end clothing, jewelry and style consulting.

On Saturday, the business announced its closing on Facebook with a going-out-of-business sale.

Tres Mariposas is located at 5857 N. Mesa St.

Just a few blocks over, another local business will also close its doors.

Charlotte’s is a furniture store that started in Central El Paso back in 1951, according to its website.

It moved to its present location at 5411 N. Mesa in 1976.

Along with home decor and furniture, Charlotte’s offered design consulting services.

Charlotte’s helped design homes, offices, country clubs, and private and commercial venues, according to its website.

Charlotte’s first announced its store closing on its Facebook page on Aug. 27.

A closing date has not been given, but the furniture retailer is offering heavy discounts on its remaining inventory.
