EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) — The Resler Drive flyover to get on I-10 east in west El Paso is closed until 6 a.m. Monday.
Workers put up barricades Tuesday night to close the entrance. The closure is part of the GO10 Project.
"The big payoff will be that on Monday morning, people will be driving on the brand new Resler eastbound ramp," Nomi Rojas, the GO10 Project senior mobility coordinator, said.
Some drivers in west El Paso said the closures are frustrating.
"Accidents are bad enough on I-10, but if they have one now with lane closures and everything else, it makes it twice as bad," Bruce Bradley said.
Rojas said they've tried to communicate well with El Pasoans to reduce frustration.
"I think because we've been able to communicate very well, that a lot of the closures no longer surprise people," Rojas said.
Opening the flyover is a sign that construction is in the home stretch, according to Rojas.
"Opening a completed structure is also a milestone," she said. "You're going to see more of those milestones in the future."
The Go10 Project is scheduled to be completed in April 2019.
