Rendering for EPISD consolidated school in Upper Valley revealed

Lincoln/Bond/Roberts consolidation: Coach Don Haskins PK-8 School.

El Paso Independent School District has now released more design plans for the 17 construction proposals.

Lincoln Middle School is one of the future construction sites. Students and parents are ready for the changes to come.

“I think it’s good but it does need a lot of improvements. I do think it’s (a) good idea to improve a lot more of it,” parent Angolina Ortega said.

The school will be combined with two elementary schools, Bond and Roberts, in El Paso's Upper Valley.

It's name was revealed last week: Coach Don Haskins PK-8 School.

EPISD is budgeting more than $44,179,303 for this particular proposal and more than $707.6 million for all 17 proposals.

“I think it’s great. I think it’s going to be a wonderful for the students and the district,” parent Velia Ochoa said.

The funding for this project comes from the EPISD Bond 2016.

At this time there’s no start date for any of the projects as designs are still underway.

But students said they're ready for the changes.

“I feel like they should make it faster because I want to see the new look. By the time it’s done I’m going to be in high school,” said Lluvia Alvarez, a Lincoln Middle School student.

So far only one out of 17 architectural contracts have been executed.

While there’s no start date for any of the construction projects there is an end one. EPISD tells us all projects should be done by 2021.
