Sen. Bernie Sanders had a message of sharing the wealth for his thousands of supporters in Vado. Sanders' supporters cheered as the Democratic presidential candidate talked about raising the minimum wage.

"That is why we are going to raise the minimum wage to a living wage of $15 an hour." Sanders said.

The Democratic presidential candidate spoke earnestly when he addressed struggling families in New Mexico.

"I'm running for president because it is unacceptable that 30 percent of children in New Mexico are living in poverty," the Vermont senator said.

"It's very personal I'm a public school teacher for low income students so I'm glad he brought it up," Sanders supporter Susan Leapley said.

Sanders was sure to let Borderland folks know he has a staunch stance against deportation.

"I believe that this country must move to a comprehensive immigration reform and a path towards citizenship," Sanders said.

"I feel like that's good especially on the border because there are a lot of families that their parents are immigrants and their kids are not. Deporting them would be a bad thing," Sanders supporter Hector Franco said.

While there were thousands of Democrats at the rally, not all of them are voting for Sanders.

"At the end of the day, it's about experience and Hillary is the most qualified by far," Hillary Clinton supporter Javier said.

One thing is for sure, the thousands who were there listening to his plans for the country took his message to heart.

"No, I did cry. I believe him. Since he walked with Martin Luther King he knew what was right and what was wrong, and I think ignorance is what's getting people to not be on his side and we need to get on his side," Sanders supporter Joanna Nevadez said.

After the rally, Sanders jumped on a plane to California to drum up more support.
