A pro Palestinian group held a rally in downtown El Paso.

Many that were in attendance said they wanted to have their voices heard but also educate the community.

It was an organized event as many took the stage to share their thoughts, many allies attended to support.

There were chants, posters, and a march around downtown El Paso.

"Many people are unaware of the atrocities that are taking place there and just from watching the news, I think many people get a misunderstanding as to what’s happening," Mario Omar Hernandez said.

The pro-Palestinian group felt it was necessary to make themselves seen and heard while violence continues to escalate in the Middle East.

"Our main goal is to make people aware and to educate people as to what’s taking place there and of course to call for a cease fire to end the killing of innocent men, women, and children," Hernandez said.

Gaza is experiencing a humanitarian crisis, they have no electricity, while water, food, fuel, and medical supplies are running low.

"I think it’s important for us because no matter what race, what our heritage, I’m part Mexican and part Palestinian but to see that there’s people being killed, I mean we need to stand up for them and raise our voice for what we believe in," Nadeem Hajir said.

Palestinians that were at the rally wanted one thing.

"We’re just here to raise our voice and share peace. That’s what we’re here for. We want Palestine to be free," Hajir said.

Since October 7 at least 2,750 Palestinians have been killed and almost 10,000 have been injured according to the enclave's Health Ministry.
