President Trump to visit El Paso Monday

President Donald Trump's comments on El Paso during State Of The Union

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump's campaign announced that the President would be visiting El Paso Monday.

A rally is scheduled to happen at the El Paso County Coliseum, according to the campaign.

This announcement comes hours after the State of the Union address, during which he mentioned El Paso, saying it was one of the safest cities in the nation due to what Border Patrol now refers to as the border wall.

On Jan. 10, KFOX14 reported that the border wall did not make make El Paso safer from violent crimes following the Texas Attorney General's statement. On Jan. 24, we examined FBI crime data and it showed that El Paso has always been safe.

Monday's event is scheduled for 7 p.m. It will be his seventh rally in Texas and his first in El Paso.

We are pleased to announce a Make America Great Again rally on Monday, February 11th in El Paso, Texas, featuring President Donald Trump,” said Michael Glassner, Chief Operating Officer of Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. “As the President continues his fight to secure our border, there’s no better place to demonstrate that walls work than in El Paso. President Trump looks forward to visiting with the patriots of Texas who are on the front lines of the struggle against open border Democrats who allow drugs, crime, and sex trafficking all along our border every day,” he concluded.

It's general admission. Doors open to the public at 4 p.m.

Register to go.
