Police searching for man who robbed west El Paso bank, fired weapon

Authorities are searching for a man that robbed a west El Paso bank and fired a shot from a handgun, police said.

The robbery happened around 3:30 p.m. at the West Star Bank at 425 Redd. Road.

Police said the man demanded money from a teller, and when he was leaving the area, he fired a shot from a handgun.

Police did not say if the man fired his weapon inside the bank or after he walked outside.

The man is described at 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build and a thin mustache.

He was wearing a light blue baseball cap with the letter “T” on it, a dark blue sweater, blue jeans, a backpack and his shoes had a red/pink heel design on them, police said.
