EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) — An El Pasoan who plays for the El Paso Coyotes died Tuesday night in a motor vehicle.
Frank Anthony Briones, 28, played midfielder, according to the owner of the soccer team Felipe Gonzalez.
El Paso police responded to a serious crash involving a vehicle and a semitruck on the Cesar Chavez Border Highway and Zaragoza Road.
The investigation revealed that Briones was driving a 2007 BMW east on Loop 375 at mile marker 48. At the same time several semitrucks were backed up from the Zaragoza off ramp on the inside lane and for unknown reasons Briones collided with the rear a vehicle and a trailer.
Fire dispatch said they requested extrication tools because it seems the vehicle is stuck underneath the semitruck.
