Woman dies after crash, driving wrong-way on I-10 in Clint
(KFOX/CBS4) — A deadly crash occurred on Interstate 10 near Clint on Thursday morning.
The incident happened around 3:15 a.m. and involved two vehicles and one person has been confirmed dead.
Deputies identified the person as Stephanie Montoya.
Deputies said Montoya was driving the wrong way. She was driving on the eastbound lanes rather than the westbound lanes.
Another vehicle that was driving on the westbound inside lane was struck head-on by Montoya.
Montoya was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital. Their condition is unknown.
This is the 20th reported traffic fatality in the county compared to 15 fatalities in 2020.
Around 9 a.m. all westbound lanes on I-10 near the Clint exit reopened.
