Northeast El Paso dusted with snow Thursday morning

North Hills neighborhood

People living in Northeast El Paso woke up to snow Thursday morning.

Roof of homes in the North Hills area off Martin Luther King Jr. were covered in snow.

Samantha James did not expect it.

"When I walked outside this morning, it was not snowing," James said. "It's really, really cold."

About an inch of snow accumulated on parked cars in that part of town.

The snow stopped around 12:30 p.m. Thursday. The snow that accumulated melted soon after, leaving behind wet roads.

It was a drastic change from the sunny spring-like days the Borderland was treated just last week.

"The weather's really bipolar," James said. "I didn't expect it to get this cold in El Paso."
