North Hills Crossing shopping center reopens to public

The new shopping center in northeast El Paso is now open to customers after a SWAT situation ended peacefully.

El Paso police responded to the situation Thursday around 6:40 a.m.

SWAT, Crisis Management Team, and police officers were in the parking lot at North Hills Crossing shopping center at 107771 Gateway South.

The incident happened near Walmart and Super Cuts at the center.

Customers at nearby stores were asked to stay inside until the scene cleared. Business resumed at the shops around 11:10 a.m.
