El Paso is a familiar sight for the Arizona State Sun Devils. The team has played in the Sun Bowl a handful of times and was in the bowl in 2014. ASU held its first 2017 Sun Bowl practice at the SAC.

Although, it’s a different story for the North Carolina State Wolfpack.

This was the first time NC State set foot in the turf of Pebble Hills High School and El Paso in general.

But the team seemed to be adjusting well.

Head coach Dave Doeren said the city of El Paso has been welcoming, and he loved the hospitality.

While El Paso terrain is certainly different than Raleigh, North Carolina, NC State quarterback Ryan Finnley is used to the desert.

Finnley is a Phoenix native and has stopped in the Sun City before on family trips.

Arizona State and North Carolina State will play in the Sun Bowl Friday.
