New mural in central El Paso honors woman empowering women
EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — An empowering woman in El Paso was honored with a mural in a central neighborhood.
Iris Lopez is known for leading her community project, Mija, Yes You can.
The project offers Lopez to share stories of women who achieved great things. She also supports non-profits with donations or volunteer work.
El Paso artist Martin "Blaster" Zubia was chosen as Estrella Jalisco's artist in residence program for the mural dedicated to Lopez.
The mural honoring Lopez is the second to be created in El Paso.
Last week artist Jesus "CIMI" Alvarado revealed mural honoring artist and attorney Patrick Gabaldon.
The mural can be seen at 801 north Piedras.
