New Mexico livestock inspection officer arrested for having sex with teenage boy

George Donald Hatfield is accused of meeting up with a 15-year-oldboy in Vado and having sex with him.

A New Mexico livestock inspection officer is behind bars for allegedly having sex with a teenager.

George Donald Hatfield, or 'Donnie' as he's referred to in the criminal complaint, is accused of meeting up with a 15 year old boy in Vado and having sex with him.

The allegations came to light in early August when the boy's mother found texts on his cell phone.

They indicated that he was meeting with adult men and having sexual encounters.

KFOX14 obtained the arrest report.

In the report, police say the boy first started talking to Hatfield online, where they exchanged phone numbers.

The report states they agreed to meet up at the Chevron truck stop in Vado.

The boy got in Hatfield’s pickup.

From there, Hatfield is accused of driving him to a dairy where his office is located and having sex with him.

We reached out to the New Mexico Livestock Board.

Interim executive director Bob Alexander sent KFOX14 this statement, saying:

"We are appalled by these charges. This employee has been placed on leave pending law enforcement's investigation and we'll cooperate with them fully. We will pursue termination of this employee if there was any wrongdoing."

We tracked down an address for Hatfield in Chaparral, NM.

He was not there, and neighbors say he has never actually lived at the home, but they do think he was leasing it.

According to online jail records, Hatfield is being held without bond.
