More than $850K of marijuana headed to El Paso seized

    U.S. Border Patrol agents found more than $850,000 worth of marijuana about 55 miles east of El Paso.

    The discovery was made in Fort Hancock, Texas.

    A cache of 1,066 pounds of marijuana was found inside a truck, said Border Patrol officials.

    Agents said they found tire tracks from a pickup truck that had made it into the country illegally.

    The driver tried to make a getaway in the truck, according to a news release.

    The suspect was captured by agents when he jumped out of the truck and started running, said agent Carlos Antunez.

    He said the truck was heading to El Paso.

    The bundles of marijuana are worth $853,280.
