More I-10 closures expected this week as crews work on Paisano bridge

MGN Online

More closures will close part of the Interstate 10 near Sunland Park this week as part of the Go I-10 project.

Starting Monday, the I-10 west will be shut down between the Sunland Park exit ramp and the Sunland Park entrance ramp, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. I-10 East will also be closed between the Sunland Park overpass and the Executive Center overpass.

Both of these areas will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and will be in effect up to Thursday. These closures are done to set beams for the new westbound Paisano (U.S. 85) bridge over the interstate.

From Wednesday through Thursday this week, there will also be two eastbound right lane closures between the Buena Vista Bridge and the Executive overpass while crews pave lanes. East and westbound left lanes will also be closed on the Mesa Overpass to place concrete barriers during this time.

Both of these areas will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Another complete closure is scheduled on Sunday, July 31. Interstate 10 west will be blocked off between the Sunland Park entrance and exit ramps.

There will also be two eastbound right lane closures between the Buena Vista Bridge and the Executive overpass during this time. This will start on July 31 at 3 a.m. and remain closed through Monday, Aug. 1 at 5 a.m.

Crews will continue with the demolition of the Paisano overpass.
