A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for anyone who can help identify two young men suspected of cashing a fraudulent check at a Las Cruces store.

Dan Trujillo, spokesperson with the Las Cruces Police Department, said an 81-year-old woman’s check was stolen from the mail sometime in June.

The check was changed from $100 to $402 and then cashed by two young men at the Family Dollar store at 1690 S. Solano Drive.

Surveillance video from the store shows the two men enter the store around noon on June 16.

Anyone with information on the two men is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Las Cruces at 1-800-222-8477.

People can call 24 hours a day and do not have to give their name to collect a reward.
