LAS CRUCES, NM (KFOX14/CBS4) — The body of a man was found partially submerged in a ponding area of an apartment complex in Las Cruces Saturday.
According to Las Cruces police, a passerby reported a man was lying face-down in the ponding area of Casa Bella Apartments and officers determined the man was dead when they arrived.
The 31-year-old man, who’s identity is being withheld at this time, was determined to be a resident of the apartment complex, according to police.
The man’s body was found with no obvious signs of life-threatening injuries and has been sent to the New Mexico medical investigator’s office for autopsy, police said.
According to police, rain from a Friday evening storm left the ponding area with about 3 to 4 feet of water at its deepest.
Police said they do not believe foul play was involved in the man’s death, but an investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information that can help police determine the man’s whereabouts Friday evening or his cause of death are asked to call 575-526-0795.
