Man facing capital murder in teen's death denied bond
EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) —
Victor Valerio will be kept behind bars until the case against him is settled, a judge ruled Wednesday.
Valerio and Daniel Torres are accused of killing Juan Manuel Cervantes in October. Both have been charged with capital murder.
Cervantes was a senior at Ysleta High School.
Investigators say the pair of suspects worked together to set up a drug deal and then shot Cervantes, who died on the way to a hospital.
Torres was also scheduled to have a bail hearing Wednesday morning, but it was canceled. A future hearing date was not immediately set.
If found guilty of capital murder, the defendants face automatic life sentences.
Online court records show Valerio has another court date set for Dec. 28.
