LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KFOX14/CBS4) — New information was revealed after a 14-year-old teen died after he was shot by his friend in Las Cruces earlier this month.
Police responded to the shooting around 9:30 a.m. near the 4800 block of Calle Bella Avenue on Oct. 14, according to a spokesperson with the Las Cruces Police Department.
A 15-year-old was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The arrest report stated several teens were inside a home without any adults present prior to the incident.
The document states the 14-year-old and the 15-year-old went to the bathroom together. While they were there the other teens heard a gunshot.
The victim and suspect came out of the bathroom asking the other teens in the house to call the ambulance.

According to the arrest report, the 15-year-old stated he had "accidentally shot his friend."
One of the teens said the 15-year-old was in possession of the firearm and was waving it side to side when he "accidentally" squeezed the trigger and shot his friend in the chest with a .22.
When police officials did a search on the home they found the weapon in the bathroom.
One of the teens said her mother, who owns the home, was out of town in Carlsbad. The teen said she allowed several of her friends to go to her house and spend the night after the football game the previous night, the document stated.
The teen said they had all been drinking alcohol and that the suspect had pulled out the gun and "showed it off" to everyone and put it back on his waist, the document stated.
Another teen said the victim and the suspect went together to the bathroom to "flex the gun."
All the juveniles who were present at the time of the incident gave the same testimony.
The 14-year-old victim was taken to the hospital where he died.
According to the documents, the firearm used was reported stolen from California.
Officers ran the serial number on the gun and found it was stolen, according to the documents.
