Las Cruces mom jailed after kids test positive for meth

Gail Delbozque was arrested after her kids tested positive for meth.

A mother is facing child abuse charges after her three children tested positive for methamphetamine.

According to a criminal complaint, an anonymous person told authorities the children at a home on Espina Street were being exposed to drugs.

Investigators spoke to the children, who are ages 6, 8 and 14, and they said that their mother, Gail Delbozque, often smokes marijuana in and outside their home.

Two of the children said their mother would tell them she was having “adult time” before they smelled what seemed to be marijuana, the complaint states.

The children said “adult time” is every hour, or when people visit their house.

Delbozque admitted to investigators that she had relapsed and started using meth but would never do so in her house and that she only smokes marijuana during “adult time.”

Drug tests of two of the children and of Delbozque came back positive for meth, according to the criminal complaint.

Delbozque also tested positive for amphetamines.

Online records show that Delbozque was charged with two counts of child abuse and booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
