EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) — A large migrant encampment along the U.S. border near Loop 375 at Yarbrough Drive was spotted Thursday.
Republican Congressman Tony Gonzales tweeted a video of a large group of migrants near the Rio Grande earlier in the day.
KFOX14 Skyview spotted multiple tents set up near the Rio Grande where barbed wire was placed.
The video no one is showing you - A few miles from downtown El Paso on the US side of the border there are 100s of illegal migrants camping out. This is anything but orderly and humane.
Hundreds of migrants are camped out, according to Gonzales.
Water tanks were seen wetting the dirt in the area where the migrants are at.
A large trash dumpster that reads, "El Paso Disposal" is placed at the encampment.
Border Patrol vehicles are on the other side of the border barrier near Loop 375.
The National Texas guardsmen added the barded wire.
"It’s absolutely heartbreaking. It’s heartbreaking for the people of El Paso it’s heartbreaking for the thousands of people that are out here it’s hot, there’s a lot of diseases floating around," Gonzales told KFOX14.
KFOX14 reached out to Border Patrol to find out why this encampment has been allowed to take hold.
We have not heard back from Border Patrol since this news article was published.
