Funeral arrangements made, memorial scheduled for Irvin High School coach killed in crash

Coach Archie Duran was killed in a bus crash after a track meet in Lubbock.

Funeral arrangements have been made for the Irvin High School track coach who was killed in a head-on collision over the weekend.

Arcadio “Archie” Duran, 48, died after a truck crashed into the charter bus carrying El Paso Independent School District students from a track meet in Lubbock.

According to Funeraria Del Angel’s website, Duran leaves behind a wife and three children.

Visitation for Duran will be held Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Kaster-Maxon & Futrell Funeral Home at 8817 Dyer Street. The vigil will begin at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 9025 Diana Drive at 2 p.m.

Duran's brother contacted KFOX14 and said the public is welcomed to attend the services.

The El Paso Independent School District announced there will be a memorial held for Duran at Irvin High's School's stadium on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help with funeral expenses for coach Duran.
