Fort Hancock man accused of shooting man in the face

More details about a shooting that happened in Hudspeth County Wednesday was released.

A Trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety was flagged by three men who were in the median along Interstate 10.

One of the men had been shot in the face, stated Texas DPS.

The group asked the Trooper for help.

Hudspeth County Sheriff’s Office and EMS were called to help.

Authorities stated the Trooper headed in the direction the alleged shooter shooter was heading.

Erick Garibaldi, 26, of Fort Hancock was identified as the shooter and was eventually found.

The injured man was taken to a hospital in El Paso.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene, including Border Patrol and FBI.

Authorities stated the shooting is part of an on-going investigation.
