A Cathedral High School student and his football team were featured in a Nike football promo highlighting cross-border life.

The promo, titled “Football Has No Borders,” tells the story of Eduardo Reaza and his daily commute from Juarez to El Paso to attend school at Cathedral High School.

The promo team arrived to the campus during football season to follow Reaza through his day.

“They came out at 4:30 a.m. to my house,” Reaza said. “I was really tired but that's the time I wake up for the morning workouts.”

The high school senior and football player travels everyday between Juarez and El Paso to make it to class and practice.

Atheletic Director Carlos Puertas said Reaza isn't the only one at the school who does that.

“Not only with football but pretty much there's one or two in each of our sports that day in and day out make the sacrifice to walk over, walk, pay the toll and wake up at 4 or 5 in the morning to be here,” Puertas said.

Working with Nike to feature the school and their state championship team was an opportunity Puertas said they couldn't pass up.

“Our kids show what standards they're held to and I think it showed in the video,” Puertas said.

For Reaza, it was a chance show there are no borders when it comes to football.

“I just feel like I'm doing it for Mexico and the other guys in the situation looking for a better opportunity and better future,” Reaza said.

In the video, Reaza talks about what it’s like being a foreign student at a new school, and how joining the football team was an experience unlike anything he’d ever encountered before.
