Fire Crews battling blaze in northeast El Paso

The El Paso Fire Department is battling a blaze in northeast El Paso Saturday evening.

City dispatchers say the fire was reported at 6:27 p.m. on Sinclair Street near Dyer Street.

The fire reportedly began in a backyard shed. The flames did enter the home and damage the attic according to Deputy Chief Ramon Valencia on scene. The family tells us that there might be damage to bedrooms as well.

"Since it was exposed in the backyard we have units on Sinclair and the next block as well to make sure there was no extension," Valencia said.

Residents in the neighboring home were also evacuated as a precaution.

Fourteen fire crews responded to the northeast fire Saturday night.
