EL PASO, TX (KFOX14) — The El Paso Police Department identified a woman who was killed allegedly by a distracted bus driver in a crash on Saturday in Northeast El Paso.
Police said that 51-year-old Jacqueline Sheffield of El Paso was killed when a passenger bus with the Los Paisanos bus company hit the stalled truck she was in on U.S. 54 north near Cassidy, according to EPPD.

The driver of the truck, 57-year-old Charles Bullard was critically injured, according to the police report.
The 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck was stalled in the second traffic lane of U.S. 54, according to police.
According to witnesses, the stalled vehicle did have emergency flashers on.
The investigation through witnesses found that the bus driver, 52-year-old Guadalupe Alonso Maciel of Ciudad Juárez, was looking down at his cell phone and failed to see the hazard.
Alonso was arrested and charged with Manslaughter (2nd Degree Felony) and Aggravated Assault (2nd Degree Felony).
A total of 42 passengers was on the bus at the time of the crash police said.
The driver of the stalled vehicle was last listed in critical but stable condition.
Magistrate Judge Jon Joseph issued Alonso a total bond of $275,000.
The crash happened at 7:35 p.m.
