Parents in El Paso can enroll their kids in IDEA Public Schools.

School officials will be enrolling students for the 2018-2019 school year on June 13.

IDEA Edgemere Academy and College Prep is on Edgemere Boulevard, and IDEA Rio Vista Academy and College Prep is in Socorro, off Rio Vista Drive.

"Our mission (is) that 100 percent of our students get accepted into college. Second is that we have a different instruction for our lower grades, so, pre-K through second. This means that a student can be at a first-grade level at a second-grade level. And that's where the instruction will be. Third thing is, for a high schooler, every student takes our Advanced Placement courses, so that means it’s for one track and that's the college-going track," said Ernesto Cantu, executive director of IDEA Public Schools.

The schools are taking students in pre-kindergarten through first and sixth grades for both schools.

Tuition is free.

IDEA Public Schools was founded in the Rio Grande Valley in 2000. Since then, IDEA has opened schools in Austin and San Antonio. Based on the demand from parents for more high-performing public schools that prepare their children for college, IDEA is growing within Texas and beyond.

Beginning in September, parents can visit to submit an application for the 2018-19 school year or to learn more about upcoming information sessions in El Paso.
