Man struck by train in Socorro, officials say

Officials with the city of Socorro said authorities are responding to an incident involving a train in Socorro on Tuesday afternoon.

Officials said a pedestrian was struck by a train. The victim is identified as a man in his 50s, according to officials. They said he is unresponsive.

As of Tuesday 4 p.m. Nevarez Road and Moon Road are closed.

Police are asking drivers to use Rio Vista Rd. or Horizon Blvd. to give first responders room to work.
