Electric rate increase rejected in El Paso

El Paso Electric

An electric rate increase was rejected earlier this month, but city council members say they are sure El Paso Electric will file an appeal with the Public Utility Commission.

The proposed rate increase was said to increase the average monthly bill by more than $9 in the summer and $7 in the winter.

This specific rate increase will not be finalized until November.

If approved, the rate increase will go into effect toward the end of this year or very early in 2018.
