Guide: What to expect for President Trump's visit to El Paso

President Trump delivering the State of the Union.

President Donald Trump's campaign rally will be held at the El Paso County Coliseum at 7 p.m. on Monday.

The Coliseum is located at 4100 E Paisano Drive.

Gates will open to the public at 3 p.m.

The City of El Paso has announced that several facilities will be closed or affected due to President Donald Trump’s visit to El Paso on Monday.

The Parks and Recreation Department

Acosta Sports Center, 4321 Delta Drive, and the Hilos de Plata Senior Center, 4451 Delta Drive, will close at 1 p.m. Both facilities will resume normal operational hours on Tuesday, Feb. 12.

El Paso Zoo

Closed for the day. The zoo will return to normal operations the following day, Tuesday, Feb. 12.

El Paso Municipal Court

Municipal Courts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 will reset after 11 a.m. All other municipal courts will not be impacted.

El Paso International Airport

Street closures:

Shelter Place is closed at Paisano, Orchard and Delta.

Boone Street and Paisano are closed near the coliseum.

Shuttle Service:

Remote Parking with shuttle services are available at the following locations:

Al Jefferson Westside Transit Center, 7535 Remcon Circle

Eastside Transit Center, 1165 Sunmount Drive

Arves E Jones Sr. Transit Center, Northgate

Shuttles will begin running at 8 a.m.

All return shuttles will depart from the El Paso Zoo.

The El Paso Police Department released a list of items that will be prohibited inside the El Paso County Coliseum.

  • Animals other than animal service guides
  • Backpacks and bags exceeding restrictions
  • Balloons
  • Bicycles
  • Coolers
  • Drones and any other aircraft system
  • Explosives
  • Firearms
  • Glass, thermal or metal containers
  • Laser Pointers
  • Mace and pepper spray
  • Selfie sticks
  • Packages
  • Signs exceeding the measurements of 20' x 3' x 1/4"
  • Structures
  • Toy guns
  • Weapons of any kinds
  • Any material considered a safety hazard

Customs & Border Protection

CBP is encouraging border travelers not to take the Bridge of Americas on Monday afternoon and evening. Heavy traffic is to be expected in the area. CBP says to use other ports of entry such as Paso Del Norte, Yselta, Tornillo and Santa Teresa.
