El Paso man facing murder trial violates probation

Marcelo Mailland

A man accused of murdering an El Paso man in 2016 is in jail for a third time.

Marcelo Mailland was booked into the El Paso County facility on Wednesday.

This is the second time he's violated his probation.

Court documents indicate Mailland violated his bond agreement again.

Mailland is accused of being in possession of alcohol and/or illegal drugs.

An alcohol monitoring device assigned to Mailland showed he had alcohol in his system on June 12, stated the documents. The following day a drug urine test showed Mailland had THC in his system, according to documents.

He was one of two suspects arrested in connection to Christian Jorjorian’s death on August 15, 2016, in the 1000 block of Calle Parque Drive in west El Paso.

Mailland’s trial date was originally scheduled for April but was pushed back to August.

The 20-year-old was issued a $1 million bond.

Jail records show Mailland remains in jail.

In 2017, Mailland was arrested in 2017 when he violated the terms of his bail bond agreement when he tested positive for marijuana.
