EPPD: Man found dead in Lower Valley canal identified
EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) —
Officials with the El Paso Police Department identified the man found dead in a canal in the Lower Valley.
The body of Saul Hernandez, 41, was taken out of the canal at 100 Pendale Road near Aranda Lane Monday evening.
Police said someone saw the body floating in the canal and then called police.
Hernandez appeared to have physical injuries, investigators said.
Reporter Ashley Claster was there when Hernandez's body was pulled out of the canal and spoke to people who live nearby.
"It could've been anyone. It could've been a family member. We don't know," said Javier Ramirez a neighbor.
Police say the circumstances surrounding the man's death are believed to be suspicious.
The investigation is ongoing.
