Deadly Rollover in Guadalupe County

    New Mexico State Police investigated a single vehicle rollover on NM State Road 219, mile post 9 southwest of Santa Rosa, NM.

    According to police a 2008 BMW driven by an 18-year-old El Paso, TX male, was traveling north on SR 219, when for unknown reasons the vehicle left the roadway and rolled.

    There were two other passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

    An 18-year-old El Paso, TX female was seated in the front passenger seat and Jubal McBeth (19) of El Paso, TX was seated in the back seat.

    All three occupants were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

    McBeth was then airlifted to Albuquerque.

    On December 12, 2018 Jubal McBeth succumbed to his injuries in the hospital and was pronounced deceased.

    Police said alcohol does not appear to have been a factor and seat belts were not properly used.

    The names of the driver and other passenger who received injuries not believed to be life threatening will not be released at this time.

    This crash is still under investigation by the New Mexico State Police.
