Update: Crews respond to semitruck crash on I-10 at Paisano, major delays continue

A jack-knifed semi-truck at I-10 and Paisano is causing major traffic back up.

A semitruck has crashed on I-10 West at Paisano Drive and impacted traffic in both directions.

It happened just before 5 a.m. It appears it jack knifed and is in the median.

Oil from the truck spilled onto the roadway affecting both directions along the interstate.

The El Paso Fire Department was on the scene working to clear the crash and the El Paso Police Department blocked all eastbound lanes and two westbound lanes.

Traffic is backed up for about miles in both directions. Drivers should take Montana Avenue or Alameda Avenue as alternate routes.

As of 12:30 p.m., I-10 continues to be down to two lanes.

No injuries were reported.

So far no word on how long it will take to clear the crash but crews have been on scene for over 2 hours. Drivers should avoid the area if possible, alternate routes are also congested. Follow @KFOXTraffic for updates.
