Our next winter storm is taking aim on the Borderland already. The system is tracking in from the west and will keep moving eastward.
Deteriorating conditions will continue through Friday night. There will also be a chance for some thunderstorms before noon Friday. Rain will be on and off with some light to moderate rainfall showers. This wintry storms system will make for a slightly cooler but soggy Friday. Unfortunately, it is a warm system, so the lowlands will only see rainfall.
If you’re looking for snow, you’ll need to head to the mountains. Snow levels will drop through the day, Friday, for the Sacramento Mountain areas. Snow levels will vary depending on elevation. If your plans take you to the mountains, Friday, be prepared for snow covered roads and low visibility in some areas.
There is a Winter Weather Advisory, as a result, from noon Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday. For the latest road conditions, in New Mexico, you can call 511.
Remember, you can also call 211 if you are in need of a blanket, or know of someone who might need one.
