Avoid I-10 around Sunland Park; Go 10 construction closes lanes

Traffic congestion builds up on Interstate 10 in west El Paso Monday.

Delays in the Sunland Park area due to a Go 10 project "Mesa park Project." It's expected to last until 3 p.m.

At 9 a.m. TxDOT crews closed the right lane on I-10 eastbound between Executive and Mesa Park Drive.

Crews also closed the right two lanes on I-10 West in the Buena Vista area (near Top Golf) for scheduled work.

Lanes on the westbound lane will reopen at 4 p.m.

On Tuesday, the Executive Exit ramp on I-10 West will close from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crews will be installing overhead sign bridge poles in the area.

A crash that happened around 11 a.m. caused traffic problems.

It happened near UTEP, causing traffic to back up on I-10 West.

Police blocked the left lane where the crash happened.

A police spokesperson said injuries were reported.

The crash site near UTEP is expected to be cleared by 1 p.m.
