Weekend events happening set for Friday-Sunday

Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss is hosting its annual Mardi Gras event on Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. Bring the family and enjoy an early Fat Tuesday celebration with live music, Cajun food and activities for the kids. The event is free and open to the general public.

The specialty-themed "Sealed with a Kiss" artist and farmers' market will be at the Substation in the Upper Valley Sunday. Organizers promise dinner giveaways, pet adoptions, a photo booth, a Frank Sinatra tribute and much more. The market takes place every week on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sunland Park Mall is hosting a special "Love Rocks" event for children on Saturday. From 2 to 4 p.m., kids may participate in arts and crafts, games, giveaways, a dance contest with a live disc-jockey and character meet-and-greets.

Also, Alamo Drafthouse in El Paso is hosting a special showing of "The Princess Bride" Friday night. The movie party starts at 7:30 p.m.
