Lil Wayne to replace Cardi B as Neon Desert headliner
Neon Desert Festival promoters announced that popular rap star Cardi B will not be performing at Neon Desert this summer.
Instead Grammy Award-winning Lil Wayne is scheduled to help headline the festival.
This isn't Lil Wayne's first time in the Sun City he was here for a concert back in 2016 at the El Paso County Coliseum.
Cardi B posted a message for her fans on her Instagram page saying her performance at Broccoli City Festival this weekend would be her last before she gives birth to the child she is expecting with Migos member Offset.
Cardi B was supposed to perform at Neon Desert, which is happening in downtown El Paso on May 26 and 28.
Some local fans disappointed by the news that she wouldn't be attending.
"I was going to go but I heard that Cardi B wasn't going to go anymore so me and my girl we aren't going any more but I still heard it's going to be good," said Joseph Pickeny.
Others indifferent to the news. "It would have been nice to see her but she wasn't my main reason for going," said Omar Gandara.
The rapper said she would be back for Bruno Mars' '24K Magic Tour'.
