Ice skating in downtown El Paso returns

WinterFest 2016

El Paso's WinterFest is back!

The festival will open to the public one week before Thanksgiving.

Visitors will be able to have fun on the rink and enjoy the features until January 1, 2018.

Attendees can take pictures inside the giant inflated snow globe, checkout a 25-foot holiday tree, enjoy hot chocolate in the Kringle Kafé and visit some of the vendors set up around the El Paso Museum of Art.

New to the event will be a mural on the museum’s exterior wall creating a photo opportunity for guests to commemorate their time at the festival.

The rink and major features are open seven days a week. Select Thursdays host festivities like the Ice, Ice, ‘80s Party, Skate with Santa, and Let it Snow Day. The Plaza Theatre will offer free holiday movies on select days.

WinterFest is free to see and $8 to skate.

Skate passes are only $8 for an hour of skating with ice skate rentals included. Skate passes for Military are $7, and $5 for children 5 and under. Special skate discounts will be offered throughout the season.
