Special election to replace retired state Rep. Joe Pickett to take place Tuesday
EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) —
Early voting has begun for the special election to replace state Rep. Joe Pickett, who announced he would be stepping down to focus on treatment for a recent cancer diagnosis.
The special election will take place on Jan. 29 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Pickett represented District 79, which includes portions of east El Paso.
Three candidates are running in the special election on Jan. 29, Democrats Art Fierro and Michiel Noe and Republican candidate Hans Sassenfeld.
Early voting will continue until Jan. 25. The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is Jan. 18.
